David Gordon Returns!
After a four-year absence, David Gordon, famed “Northwest Troubadour,” is returning to for two special concerts—benefit performances for our new Jacksonville museum!
David Gordon is a renowned acoustic guitarist and storyteller, described by the Washington Post as “an irresistible performer.” His compelling voice, keen sense of drama, and wacky humor have charmed audiences worldwide for more than 40 years. David’s international performing and recording career in classical and acoustic music reaches from Bach to bluegrass, from grand opera to jazz, from Mozart to songs of the Oregon Trail.

“Greatest Hits from Pioneer History in Story and Song”
David will be reprising favorite music from his 36 sold out “Pioneer History in Story and Song” series featuring songs popular between 1840 and 1880—the era of the Oregon Trail, the Gold Rush, and the Civil War—along with their origins and fascinating historical anecdotes. Learn the real name of “The Man on the Flying Trapeze” and how a teenage girl wrote “Rock-a-Bye Baby.”

“Singing My Heart Out”
This concert will be a personal retrospective of David’s favorite most comforting and uplifting songs about “Love, Compassion, and Hope.” The eclectic playlist includes music by Lennon & McCartney, Tom Paxton, Kate Wolf, John McCutcheon, David Wilcox, Jacques Offenbach, Hoagy Carmichael, Stephen Foster, Iris DeMent, a medieval French troubadour, and more.
Both concerts begin at 3pm on the 2nd floor of Jacksonville’s New City Hall at 206 North 5th Street. Parking is available on site and in adjacent areas.
General admission is $25.00 and reservations are required.
